Pussy Riot

Jane alerted me to this a few minutes ago. Here’s my question: If it was suggested that a member of Pussy Riot was a Canadian permanent resident back in May, why didn’t the Canadian government get involved months ago?

Also, how come this didn’t become news months ago??

Because the definition of being a permanent resident is that you reside in the country permanently.

Aside from notifications to the Federal government, it doesn’t give you any rights to consular services. It gives you the right to work in the country and live there.
