Premier Dix?

I’m a westerner, having grown up in Vancouver and spending many years in the Okanagan before landing in Ontario. Way back, I was a post secondary education activist, fighting to protect BC’s tuition freeze. The BC NDP had asked me to run in the election that saw Gordon Campbell’s Liberals swept into power – but even though the party was right, the timing was wrong for me and my little kids. I railed against Campbell’s policies, publicly, for post secondary education and other matters. And he did what we feared: He pulled a Mike Harris on us. Complete tuition deregulation.

Now, just weeks away from BC’s election – which could coincide with a possible Ontario provincial election – it sure looks like Adrian Dix will be Premier.

And I’m okay with that.
