Originally from Canada’s west coast, Lisa relocated to Ontario in 2002 and spent close to two decades working for government, a public sector not-for-profit agency, and a communications and government relations firm.

While working on Ottawa’s Parliament Hill, she rose quickly through the ranks, having held senior positions in several political offices, including a former national party leader’s office. Well known for her political skills, Lisa was also tapped to lead issues management in a War Room.

In early 2010, with her extensive legislative and political experience, she was quickly hired by a large Ontario public sector agency to lead its government relations department and assist with communications strategies. In addition to her UBC Okanagan Bachelor of Arts degree, Lisa has also completed a graduate year in Public Relations (2007), with honours – her academic and professional accomplishments resulted in Lisa being nominated for a Premier’s Award as an Outstanding Ontario Graduate.

Before launching Blackbird, Lisa spent seven years at a Toronto-based communications and government relations agency. Lisa led both its federal government relations department and Indigenous practice.

Lisa is an award-winning public relations professional and has also had many government relations successes. She is a member of the Canadian Public Relations Society, the Government Relations Institute of Canada, and the International Association of Business Communicators. Lisa is also a commentator on various television and radio news programs.

Lisa is the mother of two grown children, one of whom is finishing up his studies at the University of Toronto and the other works in tech while, along with her husband, is raising Lisa’s very busy grandsons.
